Our Community

Co-production means involving people in the creation of services. It is different from the idea that people are passive recipients of services. Using co-production, we work with and learn from communities, rather than thinking we have all the answers already. We work in this way to make sure that all the services we deliver are as good as they can be.

We recognise that there is no such thing as a ‘typical’ trans or non-binary person. Our community group is made up of a diverse range of trans and non-binary people with different skills, experiences and backgrounds.

Our community group gives feedback and advises on every aspect of the services we provide. They tell us where we got it right, where we got it wrong, and how we can improve.

We understand that no two people have the same experience, so we want to talk to as many different people who have used our services as possible.

There are lots of different ways of being involved in our community group and you can get involved as little or as much as you want. You might come to regular meetings every month, or you might fill out an online survey twice a year.

If you want to talk about your experience of using our services, we’d love you to join our community group. Please email us on admin@transjersey.org to find out more about how to get involved.
